Oct 25, 2:18 PM ET: MDA said its crews found a young man “about 25” with no pulse or breathing and pronounced him dead. MDA also treated the bus driver and took him to hospital. News reports used MDA’s age of 25.
The two groups gave different ages for the same young man. Readers can’t tell which one is right.
The proof
Their statement: 2:21 PM ET, Oct 25, 2026 — Ichud Hatzalah of Israel 1221 Telegram: its medical teams “provided medical assistance” at the scene, and “the death of the scooter rider (about 18) was pronounced due to the severe injuries he suffered.” The post does not say who pronounced death.
The record: 2:18 PM ET — MDA: its EMTs and paramedics found “a young man of about 25,” unconscious with no pulse or breathing, and pronounced his death at the scene. MDA also treated the bus driver (about 50, lightly hurt) and took him to Hillel Yaffe hospital. Walla and Ynet give the rider’s age as 25 and cite MDA.
Which is it? Ages given at a crash scene are first estimates; which one is right is unproven. Walla and Ynet repeat MDA’s figure rather than checking it on their own.
