Why it matters for donors

Both posts are about the same street on the same day, but one says the man was about 25 and the other says he was 43. Which is it?

The proof

Their statement: 8:02 AM ET, Oct 27, 2026 — Ichud Hatzalah of Israel 1221 Telegram: its medics gave first aid to “a pedestrian (about 25)” hit by a car on al-Aqaba Street in Jerusalem, who was “at this stage moderate.” The post says there were two pedestrians, and the second, “an 11-year-old boy,” was taken to hospital in an Ichud Hatzalah ambulance, lightly hurt. It does not say who took the adult to hospital or which hospital.

The record: 8:17 AM ET — MDA: a report came in at 13:19 Israel time (7:19 AM ET) of a pedestrian hit by a car on al-Aqaba Street in Jerusalem. MDA’s EMTs and paramedics were treating and taking to Shaare Zedek hospital “a man of 43, in moderate condition with limb injuries.” MDA’s post mentions only one person hurt. Srugim reported MDA’s version. Channel 14 and an earlier Srugim news flash ran Ichud Hatzalah of Israel 1221’s version.

Which is it? On the hospital transfer, the two posts differ. MDA’s post says its crews were “מפנים לבי"ח שערי צדק גבר בן 43 במצב בינוני” (“evacuating to Shaare Zedek hospital a man aged 43 in moderate condition”). Ichud Hatzalah of Israel 1221’s post says “הענקנו בזירה סיוע רפואי ראשוני לאחד מהולכי הרגל שבשלב זה מצבו מוגדר בינוני” (“At the scene we gave initial medical aid to one of the pedestrians, whose condition at this stage is defined as moderate”). It does not say who took that pedestrian to hospital, or which hospital. It does say the boy “פונה לבית חולים באמבולנס של איחוד הצלה” (“was evacuated to hospital in an Ichud Hatzalah ambulance”). Neither post says whether they describe the same person. An age can be guessed at the scene and checked later; which account is right is unproven.
